Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking a Chef for our client in Kinloss. The role involves planning, preparing and presenting nutritious meals for residents, with 40 hours per week over 5 out of 7 days.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook and present balanced, nutritious meals for residents.
• Produce breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks according to service schedules.
• Cater for diabetic, vegetarian, vegan, allergy-sensitive and therapeutic diets.
• Ensure meals are appealing and tailored to residents' preferences where possible.
• Monitor food quality and presentation standards at all times.
• Maintain highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Comply with Food Safety legislation, HACCP procedures and Environmental Health requirements.
• Record daily temperature checks for storage and cooking; maintain kitchen records.
• Ensure safe storage of food products and chemicals; follow health & safety policies.

As a Chef your working hours and days are:

• 5 out of 7 days per week
• 40 hours per week

The rate pay as a Chef is:

• £16.00 p/h

The duties and responsibilities as a Chef are:

• Plan, prepare, cook, and present balanced, nutritious meals for residents
• Produce breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in accordance with service schedules
• Cater for special dietary requirements, including diabetic, vegetarian, vegan, allergy-sensitive, texture-modified, and therapeutic diets
• Ensure meals are appealing, varied, and tailored to residents' preferences where possible
• Monitor food quality and presentation standards at all times

• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety legislation, HACCP procedures, and Environmental Health requirements
• Carry out and record daily temperature checks for food storage and cooking
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation
• Ensure safe storage of food products and chemicals
• Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding

The ideal candidate for a Chef would require:

• Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Catering Professional
• Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety standards
• Experience preparing meals for large groups
• Understanding of nutritional requirements for older people
• Ability to cater for specialist dietary needs and allergies
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
