Job summary

Hotel Indigo Cardiff is seeking a motivated chef to join our kitchen team. The role offers evening shifts from 4pm to 10pm, 30 hours over five days, with occasional morning shifts as required.

Salary details are provided within the listing and reflect a committed hospitality environment in Cardiff. You will maintain high standards of cleanliness, support menu preparation, and collaborate with the restaurant team to deliver dishes on time.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in cooking and willingness to learn in a professional kitchen.
• Some kitchen experience is a plus, but a willingness to work hard and learn is essential.
• Understanding of basic food prep techniques.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to take direction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organised workstation, following hygiene and food safety standards rigorously.
• Bring creativity to every plate, ensuring high standards of presentation and taste.
• Work closely with the restaurant team to deliver dishes on time.
• Prepare ingredients for various dishes, from chopping to marinating and portioning.
• Keep the kitchen flowing by prepping and organising for seamless service.
• Assist with kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels and inform the kitchen manager when supplies are low.
• Kitchen Porter duties as required.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF AT OUR HOTEL

What you'll be doing...
Evening Shifts = 4pm until 10pm

Salary = £20592 / FTE = £27456

• Help with kitchen inventory by preparing ingredients, monitoring stock levels, and informing the kitchen manager when supplies are low.
• Kitchen Porter duties as required
