Job summary

Berkeley Scott Recruitment in the Bexhill area is actively recruiting Education Chefs for the new school year starting September, with opportunities across Impact Food Group sites. These roles offer term-time schedules, regular pay, and the chance to secure a long-term or permanent placement in school kitchens.

You will prepare nutritious meals, plan menus, and maintain high hygiene standards while supervising kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Right to work in the UK — sponsorship is not available for these roles.
• Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willingness to obtain is essential.
• Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential.
• Passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people.
• Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens; additional compliance training provided.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff.
• Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements.
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
• Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste.
• Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service.
• Adhering to all food safety and health & safety regulations.
