Job summary

At Sodexo in Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, a Chef prepares high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff and visitors, leading your own section in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will follow menus, HACCP and safety standards, ensure clean, organized work areas, support colleagues, and deliver excellent service to support patient wellbeing and dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing nutritious meals in a healthcare or catering setting.
• Knowledge of HACCP, allergens, hygiene and safety requirements.
• Ability to follow recipes, manage tasks, and work as part of a team.

As a Chef at Sodexo in Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital, you'll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You'll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. • Prepare and deliver high-quality, nutritious and appealing food for patients, staff and visitors.


• Follow menus, recipes and dietary requirements to ensure food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.


• Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and health and safety.


• Ensure the kitchen and all work areas are clean, safe and well organised throughout each shift.


• Support the smooth running of the kitchen and work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an excellent service.


• Monitor food quality and presentation, reporting and resolving any issues promptly.


• Support special functions and provide cover for colleagues when required.


• Previous experience working as a Chef in a quality-focused catering environment; healthcare experience is desirable.


• A good understanding of food safety, HACCP, allergens, hygiene and health and safety requirements.


• A passion for producing great-quality food and delivering an excellent experience for patients and customers.


• The ability to work efficiently, follow recipes and instructions, and manage tasks effectively.


• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive and flexible approach.


• Good organisation, reliability and attention to detail.


• A willingness to learn, develop and complete relevant training.
