Role Summary
This role has accountability for managing the freight chartering for business associated with Atlantic trade for our Capesize portfolio. You are required to ensure Capesize freight coverage is adequate and fully performed in line with agreed policies and procedures.
The principal function of the Commercial Operations group is to build a competitive, flexible freight portfolio. You will need to have your finger on the pulse and really understand the market globally, and for your specific area.
Your success depends upon role modeling best practice chartering. You enjoy using your relationship building skills to network with principal clients and suppliers – you will be able to source the best deal. Freight trading and analysis along with management of a mixed portfolio of risk are key skills and knowledge for you to have.
You should have experience working in a commercial shore-based role, with a proven track record in the shipping industry, and strong experience of cargo operations documentation procedures.
