Our client, a well-established and growing consultancy, is seeking an experienced
Senior Civil Engineer
to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in
Highways and Drainage design , who enjoys a hands-on, project-focused role, balanced with technical leadership and client liaison responsibilities.
About the Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:
Lead and support the delivery of Highways and Drainage design projects.
Mentor and guide graduate engineers and technicians across multiple office locations.
Manage multiple clients and projects, ensuring deliverables meet technical standards and client expectations.
Collaborate closely with Directors to support business development, improve design quality, and maintain operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality procedures.
About You
You are a Chartered Engineer (CIWEM, ICE or CIHT) with:
A minimum of
five years' experience
in Highways and Drainage design.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
and
Causeway Flow
(or equivalent design software).
Experience with detailed calculations, sketches, specifications, and technical reports.
Strong working knowledge of adoptable infrastructure standards including
Section 38, 104, and 278 .
Familiarity with CIRIA guidance, BRE digests, BS EN752, and Design and Construction Guidance.
Excellent communication skills, with experience in stakeholder and client engagement.
Commercial awareness relating to budgeting, costing, and quotations.
Desirable Skills
Previous project management experience.
Leadership capability and a proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.
