Ansvar, part of Benefact Group, is seeking an Underwriter for our Brighton office. You’ll develop, negotiate and profitably underwrite within own authority, working closely with brokers to balance new business with retention across charities, property, business, and not-for-profit sectors.

Qualifications

• Qualified CII or commitment to achieve within an agreed timescale.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of market, industry and company context.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite business within delegated authority, delivering profitable growth.
• Assess risks and determine terms with technical and commercial judgement.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers and stakeholders to support growth and retention.
• Negotiate policy terms and deliver high-quality service to brokers and customers.
• Analyze underwriting data and trends to inform decisions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and internal controls.
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and documentation.
• Support broker engagement and contribute to portfolio growth.
• Continuously develop technical knowledge through qualifications.
