Job summary

A professional recruitment agency in Central London is seeking a Financial Accountant for a permanent role. The position involves managing financial records, preparing VAT returns, and contributing to year-end accounts in a hybrid work environment. Candidates must possess a full accountancy qualification and have relevant experience, particularly in charity accounting. Competitive salary of £60,000-£65,000 per annum, with substantial benefits including a generous pension and training budget.

Qualifications

  • At least three years of experience in a financial accounting role, ideally with charity SORP accounts.
  • Proven experience with complex partial exemption VAT returns.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journals for income and staff costs.
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations accurately.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns with partial exemption.
  • Manage PSA returns and withholding tax matters.
  • Assist with year-end statutory accounts under SORP.

Skills

Full accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or similar)
Experience in financial accounting
Complex partial exemption VAT returns
Charity taxation knowledge
Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel
Strong planning skills
Ability to build relationships
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
