Job summary

Placrrecruitment Co is seeking a Part-Time Charity Accountant / Finance Manager to oversee charity finances and deliver monthly reporting. The role covers restricted/unrestricted funds, SORP/FRS 102 compliance, budgeting, and year-end audits within a dynamic charity environment.

The successful candidate will have ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent charity finance experience, strong Xero and advanced Excel skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to trustees.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualification or substantial charity finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of Charity SORP and FRS 102.
• Experience managing restricted and unrestricted funds.
• Knowledge of charity tax compliance, including Gift Aid and VAT.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Experience coordinating year-end audits.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero and advanced Excel.
• Detail oriented with deadline-driven delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain nominal, purchase and sales ledgers in Xero.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and commentary.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and accruals.
• Ensure compliance with SORP, FRS 102 and fund accounting.
• Monitor cash flow, treasury activity and bank reconciliations.
• Support payroll processing and HMRC compliance from 2027.
• Coordinate year-end accounts and external audits.
• Produce regular financial reports for leadership and trustees.
