Job summary

BCL Legal is assisting a leading international law firm in Birmingham to recruit a Charity, Higher Education & Commercial Trusts Associate (2-6 PQE). The role offers exposure to charity law, governance and commercial trusts across universities, charities and insurers, with senior lawyers and a collaborative team.

You will advise on charity and HE governance, university restructurings, and cross‑practice matters, with hybrid working and clear career development within a supportive international

Qualifications

• Experience in charity law, higher education, trusts or related practice.
• Strong technical ability with excellent drafting and written communication.
• Commercially-minded with pragmatic, business-focused advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide charity law, governance and regulatory advice for universities and charities.
• Assist with university restructurings, mergers and related commercial projects.
• Structure charitable subsidiaries, joint ventures and commercial arrangements.
• Support cross-practice collaboration with colleagues in related departments.
