Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Registered Nurse to manage and deliver care for a defined caseload, applying the Nursing Process and case management to maintain high quality care. The charge nurse will supervise junior staff within a defined service under leadership, ensuring governance and professional standards.

You will work within the eKSF framework, deputise for leadership when needed, and support learning and practice development while adhering to professional conduct guidelines.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
• Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level.
• Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
• A driving licence is required; full UK/EU/EEA licence.

Responsibilities

• Practising within the eKSF, scope, range and competencies of the post.
• Apply values based practice principles to inform decision making in all aspects of care and treatment of clients / patients and in interactions with colleagues.
• Deputise for the team leader / senior charge nurse and act to ensure the effective running of the service in their absence as required.
• Be fully compliant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the other relevant guidance documents.
• Actively contribute to the development of an atmosphere and environment, which promotes and facilitates learning, regularly liaising with Practice Education Facilitators and Clinical and Professional Development Nurses.
• Assist the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner in implementing and evidencing the Clinical Governance Framework and Staff Governance Framework.
