We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Band 6 Junior Sister /Charge Nurse to join our team.
As a Sister/Charge Nurse you should possess proficient clinical, communication, mentoring and leadership skills and demonstrate an interest in surgical nursing.
In return, you will be supported to develop further you leadership and speciality clinical skills
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced registered nurse to work as an integral member of the vascular nursing team. We require someone to work full time.
Level 8 Tower Ward is a 37-bedded surgical in-patient area, the regional hub for complex vascular surgery. The nursing team are amidst the most experienced in wound care management and pain control. The post holder will work in collaboration with the vascular nurse specialist and as part of a large multi disciplinary team.
You will be working alongside our new ward manager and matron at this exciting time of changes.
This role is being offered full time (37.5 hours per week) This role will involve long days from 07:00 til 19:30 including night shifts 19:00- 07:30.
Shift coordinating on the ward of bed flow management with liaising with clinical site management team. Ensuring excellent standards and safe practice are applied by junior staff members on the ward .
Liaising with the vascular MDT to ensure excellent standard of patient care is fulfilled throughout the patients journey. Taking part in board round and ward round, updating the team to any changes.
Builds effective working relationships with patients, relatives, carers and ward staff team to allow a positive patient experience

Level 8 Tower is the regional hub for complex vascular surgery, You will regularly take charge of the 37 bedded vascular ward and take responsibility for ensuring the coordination and direct provision of a high standard of holistic, patient centred care by assessing nursing care and health education needs, and the development, implementation and evaluation of care for each patient. You will provide an effective, safe environment of care for individual patients, their relatives and carers.
The post holder will initiate and undertake/supervise specific projects/ audits related to the professional development of nursing, monitoring standards of care and acting as an agent for change in achieving a culture that is flexible and responds positively to the demands and future development of the vascular service.
