Coral Ward is looking for a motivated and passionate leader for our Charge Nurse position.
Coral Ward is a 19 bed mixed gender acute mental health ward, working with service users with a variety of mental health needs. We have a strong multi professional team on the ward with positive working relationships between colleagues across Langley Green Hospital, Including our acute wards, older adults ward, PICU, Home Treatment Team, Haven, Acute Day Service and in house Occupational Therapy and Psychology.
We are looking for a Charge Nurse who is a strong leader and has a passion for innovation and change in our dynamic nursing team. As a Charge Nurse you will work closely with the Ward manager and Matron to lead on change projects to promote the workplace as a learning environment. You will develop the nursing team to ensure that they are enabled to provide the best possible care to our patients.

Shifts whilst working on the ward, follow a 12 hour shift pattern and we can offer a flexibility with both day and night shifts.
You will be expected to split your duties between supporting your team and ward clinically as well as supporting your ward manager with delegated managerial tasks and regular management days.
You will be expected to complete supervisions and appraisals, managerial audits, attend leadership and managerial meetings and lead as an example to more junior staff within the Coral Ward Team.

You would be supported to complete CPD courses, encouraged to seek development opportunities and training, alongside regular supervision, as well as providing senior nurse input on the ward . We are also very keen to embrace further quality improvement projects and have projects running already, but we are keen for further ideas to be explored and for nurses to lead on these. We will also support staff to complete nurse prescribing and attain Associate clinician status.
