Job summary

Lakefields Neurological Centre in Chigwell is seeking a Charge Nurse to oversee and deliver high-quality neurological care while supporting a multidisciplinary team. You will lead staffing, ensure smooth day-to-day operations, and maintain clinical standards in a busy 22-bed centre.

With NHS or private care experience, you will balance clinical duties with managerial responsibilities and contribute to ongoing service development within Elysium Healthcare.

What you will be doing

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a Neurological setting, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well. You'll also;

• Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
• Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes
• Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support
• Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
• Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration

This role will include 50% clinical and 50% managerial reasonability.

No two days will be the same, with plenty to keep you engaged and motivated, but also a good amount of routine.

Lakefields Neurological Centre is a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life.The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
