Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to join a specialist neurological care service in the United Kingdom. You will provide clinical leadership, deliver high‑quality nursing and rehabilitation support, and mentor staff to manage complex care needs.

The role combines clinical practice with managerial responsibilities, focusing on patient independence, wellbeing and a safe, person‑centred care environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced Charge Nurse or Senior Nurse (Sister) with clinical leadership
• Registered nurse with NMC registration and valid practice rights in the UK
• Ability to mentor, supervise and develop nursing staff and care team

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for day-to-day delivery of specialist neurological care
• Oversee complex nursing interventions including tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, ventilation and catheter management
• Lead, supervise and mentor nursing staff and care assistants to build clinical confidence
• Complete clinical assessments, develop and monitor care plans
• Collaborate with MDT to support rehabilitation and enhance independence and quality of life
• Maintain high standards of medication management, infection prevention and documentation
• Support staff supervision, competency assessments and ongoing training
• Contribute to governance, audits, risk management and quality improvement
• Foster a safe, person-centred environment for patients and families
• Balance clinical and managerial duties for smooth service operation

We're looking for a confident and clinically experienced Charge Nurse or Sister who can combine hands‑on nursing with effective team leadership. With a mixture of clinical and managerial responsibilities, you'll play an important role in maintaining excellent standards of care, mentoring nursing staff and supporting patients with complex clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support the day-to-day delivery of specialist neurological care

• Lead, supervise and mentor nurses and care staff, promoting clinical confidence and professional development
• Complete clinical assessments, develop care plans and monitor patient progress
• Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support rehabilitation, independence and improved quality of life
• Maintain high standards of medication management, infection prevention and clinical documentation
• Support staff supervision, competency assessments and ongoing training
• Assist with clinical governance, audits, risk management and quality improvement
• Promote a safe, supportive and person-centred environment for patients and their families
• Balance clinical responsibilities with managerial duties to ensure the smooth running of the service
