Willing Recruitment is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to join a specialist neurological care service. The role blends hands-on nursing with team leadership to uphold high standards of care for individuals with long-term neurological conditions.

The ideal candidate is an NMC-registered nurse with Sister/Charge Nurse experience and skilled in tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, ventilation and catheter management, while mentoring staff and driving rehabilitation outcomes.

Qualifications

• NMC PIN active and in good standing.
• Experience at Sister or Charge Nurse level is essential.
• Experience in neurological care is essential.
• Clinical competence in tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, ventilation, and catheter management is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and support day-to-day delivery of specialist neurological care.
• Deliver and oversee complex nursing interventions including tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, ventilation and catheter management.
• Lead, supervise and mentor nurses and care staff, promoting clinical confidence and professional development.
• Complete clinical assessments, develop care plans and monitor patient progress.
• Collaborate with MDT to support rehabilitation and independence, improving quality of life.
• Maintain high standards of medication management, infection prevention and clinical documentation.
• Support staff supervision, competency assessments and ongoing training.
• Assist with clinical governance, audits, risk management and quality improvement.
• Promote a safe, patient-centred environment for patients and families.
• Balance clinical responsibilities with managerial duties for smooth service operation.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Charge Nurse to join a specialist neurological care service, providing high-quality nursing and rehabilitation support to individuals with long-term neurological conditions and complex care needs.

Set within beautiful grounds and offering excellent facilities, the service provides a supportive, therapeutic environment where patients receive personalised care focused on improving their independence, wellbeing and overall quality of life.

We're looking for a confident and clinically experienced Charge Nurse or Sister who can combine hands-on nursing with effective team leadership. With a mixture of clinical and managerial responsibilities, you'll play an important role in maintaining excellent standards of care, mentoring nursing staff and supporting patients with complex clinical needs.

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with an active NMC PIN – essential
• Previous experience at Sister or Charge Nurse level – essential
• Experience working within neurological care – essential
• Clinical competence in tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, ventilation and catheter management – essential
• Experience supporting patients with complex and long-term care needs
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop nursing teams
• Strong clinical assessment, care planning and risk management skills
• Good understanding of safeguarding, clinical governance and regulatory standards
• Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills

• Promote a safe, supportive and person-centred environment for patients and their families
• Balance clinical responsibilities with managerial duties to ensure the smooth running of the service
