Lakefields Neurological Centre in Chigwell is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead a multidisciplinary team in a 22-bed Neuro ward. You will oversee high-quality care, coordinate clinical services and ensure smooth day-to-day operations with strong leadership and communication.

Ideal candidates have NHS/private care experience, NMC registration, and a proven track record of leading a team in a neurological/respiratory care environment.

What you will be doing

With previous experience from the NHS or private care, you will oversee and provide high-quality care and support to people in a Neurological setting, while supporting your team and colleagues and promote good teamwork. As a Charge Nurse, you’ll lead and coordinate the quality and management of nursing care and delivering of clinical services, ensuring the day-to-day operations of your unit is performing well.

You’ll also

• Delegate nursing tasks to Nurses working in the unit and coordinate with other teams
• Monitor service users’ conditions and respond to changes
• Supervise other members within the team's unit and provide guidance and support
• Make critical decisions regarding service user assignments, staff scheduling, and resource allocation
• Be liaison between nursing staff and other healthcare professionals, with effective communication and collaboration

Things that you will have

• A relevant nursing qualification
• NMC registration
• Strong Neuro experience at Charge Nurse/Ward sister level. Tracheostomy, ventilator, PEG, catheter care competent practitioner
• Experience in leading a team within the complex Neurological/Respiratory care environment
• A positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionate
• A commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practice
• Relevant experience in a similar environment
• Proven track record of leadership skills

Where you will be working

Lakefields Neurological Centre, Lambourne Road, Chigwell, IG7 6HH Lakefields Neurological Centre is a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care. Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
