Job Introduction

The Public Health team are seeking to recruit a skilled, experienced and ambitious programme manager to lead the Changing Futures programme in Bradford.

This role will deliver our ambitions to respond to Multiple Disadvantage in Bradford through Changing Futures, a strategic programme designed to bring about systems change for adults experiencing multiple disadvantage. The role will require working at a strategic level with partners from across Bradford including other public sector organisations and the VCSE sector.

We are building a new approach to public service delivery. Breaking down the silos between public services, and promoting ways of working around people, place and prevention. You will be vital in developing and delivering innovation and system change for Changing Futures.

Working as part of an established core team and closely with local authorities, the ICB, police, probation, government departments, voluntary and community sector enterprises and a broad range of local partners, you will be responsible for development and alignment of the multiple disadvantage agenda which contributes effective delivery of the Changing Futures programme.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff/team management, complex system working, strategy development, and working in ambiguity.

The ideal candidate will have a range of experiences in the application of public health skills and strategic thinking and be adept at transforming vision and strategy into practical outputs. An ability to work flexibly on a dynamic and emergent programmes of work will be key to this remit as well as experience of building strong relationships with a diverse range partners from across the system.

Public Health is part of a Health and Wellbeing Department that includes Adult Social Care and Environmental Health. Bradford Council is large unitary authority with an excellent reputation.
