MioCare Group is seeking an experienced Chair to provide strong governance and strategic leadership as it enters its next development phase in Oldham. You will be the principal link between the Board, Managing Director and Shareholder Steering committee, shaping strategic direction and ensuring quality, financial sustainability and effective risk management are central to decision-making.

Allowance: £15,000 per annum | Up to two days per month | Oldham

Help shape the next chapter of care, independence and innovation in Oldham

MioCare is a not-for-profit care and support provider, wholly owned by Oldham Council. We help people maximise their independence, live fulfilling lives and thrive within their communities.

We are seeking an experienced and values-led Chair to provide strong governance and strategic leadership as MioCare enters its next phase of development.

As the principle link between the Board, Managing Director and Shareholder Steering committee, you will help shape our strategic direction, oversee organisational performance and ensure that quality, financial sustainability and effective risk management remain at the heart of our decisions. You will also act as a guardian of MioCare’s purpose and values.

This is an opportunity to lead an effective and engaged Board, support and constructively challenge the Managing Director, and strengthen MioCare’s contribution to the wider health and care system.

We are looking for an accomplished Chair, Non-Executive Director or senior executive leader who can bring:

• Experience of leadership within a large, complex or changing organisation
• A strong understanding of governance, finance, performance and risk
• The ability to support, challenge and hold senior leaders to account
• Experience of organisational transformation and sustainable growth
• Political awareness and the ability to build influential partnerships
• A visible commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion
• An inclusive, collaborative and values-led leadership style

You may come from social care, health, housing, local government or another regulated, people-focused sector. More important is your ability to combine sound governance with strategic ambition, commercial judgement and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for people and communities.
