  • A full clean UK driver’s license (B+E towing) is desirable.

Job description

We are looking to expand our Managed Environments Arboriculture Department to work on various projects throughout the UK, including HS2, Midlands Metro Alliance, Highways Projects, and large infrastructure projects.

As a Chainsaw Operative/Groundworker at RSS Infrastructure, you will be a vital part of a dynamic team responsible for performing tree & de-vegetation activities and supporting the Arborist Climber, Machine Operators, and Project Lead.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Operate handheld equipment safely and efficiently, following current regulations.
  • Perform tree removal and vegetation clearance tasks.
  • Understand working safely around machinery and active work sites.
  • Assess occupational and environmental risks to the workforce and the public.
  • Maintain good relationships with principal contractors and obtain future work plans to support growth.
  • Follow project plans and safety guidelines outlined in RAMS & POWRA.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain equipment to comply with PUWER standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to complete projects on time.
  • Have a good understanding of tree identification and characteristics.
  • Adhere to industry best practices and maintain high work standards.
  • Assist the site supervisor and colleagues as needed.

Role Requirements:

  • NPTC CS30, CS31 qualifications.
  • Valid CSCS card (including ROLO).
  • Experience with Brush Cutter/Strimmer.
  • First Aid at Work or Forestry First Aid Certificate.
  • A full clean UK driver’s license (B+E towing) is desirable.

Additional desirable qualifications (training provided if necessary):

  • Personal Track Safety (PTS).
  • Wood Chipper operation.
  • MEWP certification.
  • Aerial Rescue training.
  • Experience working with heavy plant & machinery.
  • Other relevant training courses.
