Marks Sattin Executive Search is currently working with a highly successful Family Office to appoint a commercially minded CFO to lead the finance function and act as a strategic partner to the principals. This is a broad, hands-on leadership role that combines core financial oversight with active involvement in investment management, and long-term planning across a diverse portfolio.

The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the full finance function, including consolidated reporting, liquidity planning, and financial operations across a complex structure of trusts, entities, and investment vehicles. In addition to financial stewardship, the role involves working closely with the principals on evaluating new investment opportunities, managing operating businesses, and aligning the office’s financial infrastructure with its broader strategic and philanthropic goals. The CFO will also be closely involved in succession planning, risk management, and act as a key point of continuity and advice to the principals. This is a hands-on and highly trusted position, requiring sound technical skills, commercial awareness, and strong interpersonal judgement.

The ideal candidate:

• A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Proven experience in a senior finance role within an SME environment
• Strong commercial acumen with proven experience evaluating and managing direct investments and operating companies
• Experience with complex, multi-jurisdictional structures including trusts, SPVs, and charitable entities
• Comfortable being hands-on while also advising at a strategic level across diverse asset classes
• Technically strong in financial controls, modelling, and systems optimisation
• Confident operating independently, yet collaborative with advisors, and external stakeholders
