Our client is a highly successful, privately-owned business operating in the B2B service sector across a vast array of countries worldwide. With a plan for an exit in the next 2–3 years, there is a demand for an experienced CFO to drive and navigate the business, ensuring sound financial performance and serving as a member of the board.
As CFO, you will manage, develop, and lead the finance team across the UK and multiple international entities. You will be responsible for all external relationships, including banks, investors, external audit, and third-party accountants. You will ensure the business has a robust and effective internal control framework and enable the CEO and senior management team to steer the business via sound financial guidance and accurate management information. You will advise on and implement financial modelling to ensure profitability, understand and manage complex funding structures, and drive actions to increase customer profitability.
This is a fundamental role for the business, involving risk management by analyzing liabilities and investments, and actively supporting business growth. You will decide on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks and ensuring appropriate cash flow for operations. Improvements are needed in the preparation of reliable current and forecast reports.
Most importantly, you will create value, build, and drive a high-performing finance function.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with proven experience as a CFO or in another senior finance managerial role, possessing strong communication skills and the ability to communicate finance concepts to non-finance personnel. Experience in raising finance from third parties or external investors, managing complex treasury functions—including multi-currency transactions and Forex—is essential. You should have operated successfully within multi-entity structures and managed a global business. Experience navigating high-growth or scale-up organizations, along with in-depth knowledge of corporate finance and risk management practices, is required. Excellent data analysis and forecasting skills, strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong leadership and organizational skills are also necessary.
