Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking a Certification & Compliance Engineer for our client in Hounslow. The role focuses on leading certification and regulatory compliance for new and existing products, ensuring adherence to BS, EN, IEC, UL, CE, UKCA and FCC standards.

You will liaise with customers, coordinate testing programmes and coordinate with third‑party labs to obtain quotations. A strong background in electrical/electronic product certification is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Five years' industrial experience in testing and certification of electrical/electronic products.
• Strong knowledge of international standards (BS, EN, IEC, UL, CE, UKCA, FCC).
• Understanding of global certification processes; RED knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Certification & Compliance Engineer - Hounslow - Up to £50k

My client is a well-established UK electronics design and manufacturing company with a global customer base. They develop innovative products across power electronics, IoT and control systems, with manufacturing operations spanning the UK, Middle East and Asia. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Certification & Compliance Engineer to join their multidisciplinary R&D team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the certification and regulatory compliance process for new and existing products.
• Advise engineering teams on applicable certification requirements during product development.
• Carry out compliance risk assessments and provide recommendations.
• Liaise with customers regarding product testing and certification requirements.
• Plan and coordinate internal and external testing programmes.
• Work with third-party test houses to arrange testing and obtain quotations.

Requirements

• BSc/BEng (or equivalent) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Certification or a related discipline.
• Minimum of five years' industrial experience in the testing and certification of electrical or electronic products.
• Strong knowledge of international standards including BS, EN, IEC, UL, CE, UKCA and FCC.
• Good understanding of global certification processes.
• Knowledge of the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and cybersecurity legislation would be advantageous.
