Job summary

Matchtech is recruiting an experienced Centreless Grinder Setter/Operator for a leading precision engineering manufacturer in Havant, Hampshire. You will set up and operate centreless grinding machines, read engineering drawings and perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

This permanent, full-time role offers a competitive salary and a 37.5-hour week with rotating double day shifts, overtime opportunities and a modern machining environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with centreless grinding and setting machinery.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with micrometers, verniers and gauges for in-process inspection.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate centreless grinding machines.
• Carry out plunge and through-feed grinding operations.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
