Legacy Leisure operates five leisure facilities across the Vale of Glamorgan in partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced individual to join the Legacy Leisure team within the Wales and South West Region.

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management and operation of three leisure facilities, all of which have recently undergone significant investment to enhance their offerings:

The Opportunity

Legacy Leisure is a well-established and growing business that values investing in its people and offers career prospects.

Barry Leisure Centre features two gyms (including a newly opened one), two group exercise studios, a six-court sports hall, and main and learner swimming pools. Recent improvements include a gym refurbishment, a new spin studio, and a new Strength Gym extension.

Colcot Sports Centre is a dryside facility with a resurfaced four-court sports hall and outside 7-a-side and 5-a-side 3G pitches.

Llantwit Leisure Centre offers a CV gym, studios, a four-court sports hall, and an 18m pool, with recent investments in its changing and toilet areas and a new sports hall surface.

Primary Objectives

1. Manage the centre's budget effectively.
2. Enhance financial performance and site usage.
3. Ensure smooth operation of facilities for the community.
4. Lead, develop, and coordinate staff to meet operational needs, fostering an innovative and responsive team.
5. Monitor performance through proper accounting and reporting procedures.
6. Improve the company's image and credibility.
7. Maintain health and safety standards, contributing to a safety-oriented culture.
8. Proactively secure new business opportunities.
9. Ensure high standards and a good or better Net Promoter Score (NPS).
10. Oversee the facilities' operations and presentation.
11. Achieve and surpass budget targets.
12. Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
13. Develop programs to increase community usage.
14. Continuously improve operational procedures and quality standards.
15. Build and maintain a strong organizational structure with motivated staff.
16. Implement and monitor health and safety policies and environmental policies.

The Person

• Over three years of managerial experience with a proven KPI record.
• Ability to manage and develop staff effectively.
• Extensive knowledge of swimming pool operations and the leisure industry.
• Leisure Management qualification is desirable.
• Additional qualifications such as Health & Safety, NPLQ, PPO are advantageous.
• Respect and acceptance from clients and teams.
• Financial awareness and operational management skills.
• Reliable decision-maker with excellent planning and time management skills.
• Proactive in resolving operational issues and adaptable in management style.
• Strong relationship-building skills with customers, clients, and employees.
• Committed to a positive employee culture and delivering quality training.
