Center Care Team - Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

Our core approach at ArchWell Health involves a dedicated clinical care team focused on our members' needs. Care teams deliver compassionate primary care and coordinate with the broader healthcare system. The Medical Assistant (MA) supports the PCP daily, ensuring efficient patient care, and collaborates with teammates to greet and room members. The MA may also provide coverage outside their primary center as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient intake, record vital signs, gather medical history, perform examinations, and routine screenings, ensuring patient understanding and addressing questions.
  • Engage actively with patients during appointments, reporting any changes or needs to the PCP or specialists.
  • Prioritize patient experience, manage phone messages, relay information, and communicate with patients effectively.
  • Perform minor procedures like dressing changes, sutures removal, and CPR when necessary under supervision.
  • Maintain OSHA safety standards and ensure accurate, ethical documentation.
  • Provide health coaching to support healthy lifestyle choices and follow up via weekly calls.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with claims, quality reports, and analytical software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for meetings.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare training.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience as a Medical Assistant.
  • Phlebotomy experience and BLS certification preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems like EClinical Works.
  • Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
