Job summary

Hatfield Town Council is offering a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice position in Doncaster. You will gain hands-on experience maintaining cemeteries, parks and recreation grounds while working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship.

The role covers grass cutting, pruning, hedges, planting, edging and general site duties. Training is provided on-site by the employer and KEITS, with regular visits from a trained assessor and the chance to progress to a full-time

Qualifications

• Good communication with the public face to face.
• Able to work as part of a team in varied weather conditions.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in maths and English are desired but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Grass cutting with ride-on, pedestrian and hand-held machines.
• Pruning, digging and bed preparation.
• Planting, shrub and hedge maintenance; edging and watering.
