Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our UKAS-accredited cellular pathology team. You will support Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Pathologists in daily operations, assist with equipment maintenance, and help ensure our services meet national standards.

The role requires a flexible, reliable individual who can work both independently and as part of a team, with attention to detail and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• Flexible approach to the service and the ability to multi-task.
• Willing to undertake local training and relevant qualifications for the post.
• Knowledge of histopathology laboratory procedures would be advantageous.
• Excellent IT skills and experience with laboratory computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Support Biomedical Scientists and Consultant Pathologists in day-to-day operations and maintenance of cellular pathology laboratory premises and equipment.
• Support the diagnostic services of the department to meet local and national service standards.
• Assist in maintaining quality accreditation and liaise with staff, medical staff and external contacts.
• Work as part of the laboratory team ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
