Job summary

NHS Fife invites applications for an Associate Practitioner in the Cellular Pathology Department at Victoria Hospital. The role requires SVQ level 3 in biological/life sciences and at least two years’ Healthcare Science Support Worker experience, or an SVQ 4/HND in Biological Science, with rotation across diagnostic cytology and routine histology.

Responsibilities include sample preparation, embedding, microtomy and staining.

Qualifications

• Minimum SVQ level 3 in biological or life sciences or related subject.
• At least 2 years experience as Healthcare Science Support Worker.
• SVQ 4 / HND in Biological Science or related subject or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Rotation through sections within Cellular Pathology including diagnostic cytology and routine Histology.
• Duties include sample preparation, embedding, microtomy and staining.
