Job summary

Nexeon in Oxfordshire is seeking a lab-based role focusing on electrode manufacturing and cell assembly to support the electrochemistry team in validating new battery materials.

You will perform slurry mixing, coating, cell assembly, testing, data recording, and COSHH compliance, contributing to a more sustainable energy future.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out electrode manufacturing processes such as slurry mixing, slot die coating and calendaring electrodes with strong emphasis on quality control.
• Assembly of coin and pouch cells through forming, tab welding and electrolyte filling within controlled dry-room environments.
• Battery cell testing through developing and executing electrochemical test programs for battery applications. Maintenance of thermal chambers and electrical connections of potentiostats.
• Follow procedures and rigorously document electronic and hard copy records of experimental laboratory processes.
• Conduct risks and COSHH assessments ensuring compliance with Nexeon H&S policies and procedures at all times.

Job Description

This is a lab-based role which involves working closely with the electrochemistry team at Nexeon by focusing on electrode manufacturing processes, cell assembly and cell testing. This role will contribute to company goals by supporting the electrochemistry team in validating a new generation of battery materials, through collaboration, communication and leadership, making for a more sustainable and efficient world.
