Job summary

The Health and Safety Partnership Limited is seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to deliver CDM and health and safety services across the North West and Midlands, with occasional travel outside the area. You will plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety during the pre-construction phase, ensuring designers fulfil their CDM duties.

You will manage your own portfolio of projects, liaise with clients, design teams, Principal Contractors and other stakeholders, and provide

Qualifications

• Proven CDM Principal Designer or similar health and safety/design risk role.
• Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and health and safety legislation.
• Understanding of design/construction process and risk management.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Practical, proactive and solutions-driven approach.
• Confident liaising with clients, designers and contractors.
• Good IT and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the CDM Principal Designer role per CDM 2015.
• Advise clients on CDM 2015 duties.
• Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate health and safety during pre-construction.
• Identify and manage foreseeable design and construction risks.
• Coordinate design risk reviews with designers to reduce risk.
• Prepare Pre-Construction Information and Health and Safety Files.
• Monitor designers' CDM duties.
• Provide CDM/health and safety advice to clients and teams.
• Review Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain project records and produce clear technical documentation.
