Job description

We are seeking an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join a multi-disciplinary team to lead and coordinate health and safety considerations throughout the design and pre-construction phases of projects. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance to clients, designers, and project teams, ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and the effective management of design risk. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong technical knowledge, stakeholder management skills, and a passion for promoting safe and compliant project delivery.

Whilst the CDM Principal Designer role will be the primary focus of the position, the successful candidate will also undertake site inspections, compliance reviews, and risk-based audits to assess the effectiveness of project risk management arrangements and the implementation of CDM duties. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying hazards, challenging poor practices, and supporting clients and project teams in achieving safe and compliant project delivery

The successful candidate will also be expected to identify opportunities to strengthen client risk management processes and develop additional CDM, health and safety, and compliance-related services that add value to clients and enhance project outcomes. This will suit a commercially aware professional who can build strong client relationships, provide practical risk management solutions, and contribute to the continued growth of the CDM specialism within the business.
