Job summary

National Grid plc is hiring a CDM Advisor to coordinate CDM compliance across the South West and North West regions. You will support PS&D project development, provide expert CDM guidance, and ensure safety by design throughout pre-construction and construction phases.

You will work in a hybrid setup across home, site and office locations, accounting for diverse project types from substations to upgrades, with a focus on regulatory alignment and risk management.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of CDM regulations in pre-construction and construction phases.
• Experience in large-scale utility construction projects or site delivery.
• Understanding of Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor roles under CDM.
• Experience in auditing and root cause analysis techniques.
• Full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate region-wide CDM compliance across projects.
• Maintain and update CDM Strategy for the region.
• Attend Design Review and Hazard Review meetings and review hazard registers.
• Promote safety in design and share lessons learned from projects.
• Provide guidance on internal procedures and supplier requirements.
