Job summary

Stirling Council is seeking a CCTV Operator to monitor live and recorded footage from the CCTV control room, supporting emergency responses and partner agencies to prevent crime and antisocial behaviour. The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks calmly in challenging situations.

Based in Stirling, the post offers flexible hours with full-time or part-time options, a rotating shift pattern, and a focus on community safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in monitoring CCTV and responding to incidents.
• Knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection principles.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and evidential records.
• Comfort with rotating shift patterns including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor public-space CCTV cameras and related systems in line with legislation and procedures.
• Identify and respond to incidents involving public safety and anti-social behaviour.
• Collaborate with Police Scotland, emergency services and partner agencies.
• Ensure CCTV activity complies with data protection and codes of practice.
• Maintain logs, incident reports and evidential records; prepare footage for disclosure.
• Operate CCTV equipment and radio systems effectively.
• Contribute to broader community safety initiatives.
