Job summary

Glanville Environmental is seeking a CCTV Assistant to join our Bridgwater team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role focuses on operating and maintaining drainage survey equipment, performing manual handling tasks, and supporting safety measures on site.

You will be part of a family-owned business with a commitment to safety and quality, requiring good communication, reliability and physical fitness for outdoor work in all weathers. A valid UK driving licence and CSCS Card are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Physically fit for outdoor work in all weather.
  • Valid UK driving licence and CSCS Card required.
  • Health, Safety and Environmental awareness essential.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and problem-solving on site.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, maintain, clean and store drainage survey equipment and cameras.
  • Assist with manual handling to access drainage networks and move equipment.
  • Assist in signing, lighting and guarding tasks.
  • Work as part of a confined space entry team in various roles.
  • Undertake weekly asset checks on equipment.
  • Maintain a clean workspace and vehicle.
  • Carry out tool control to prevent loss of equipment.
  • Prepare and organise equipment for each task.
  • Apply PUWER/LOLER weekly inspections.
  • Utilise app for reporting hazards, observations and safety improvements.
  • Ensure correct PPE is used for each task.

Job Description

CCTV Assistant
Bridgwater
Permanent, full‑time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for setting up, maintaining, cleaning and storing a wide range of drainage survey equipment and cameras
  • Support in manual handling activities to access drainage networks and moving required equipment to locations for surveys
  • Assist in setting out basic Signing, Lighting and Guarding
  • Operate as part of a confined space entry team in various roles of entry
  • Undertake weekly asset checks on all team allocated equipment
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workspace and vehicle
  • Carry out detailed tool control to ensure equipment is not lost or left behind
  • Preparation and organisation of necessary equipment to undertake each task
  • Apply PUWER/LOLER weekly inspections
  • Utilising work‑based App for reporting of Hazards/observations, positive safety interventions and improvement suggestions
  • Ensure correct PPE and task specific PPE is correctly utilised

  • Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.
  • Valid UK driving licence
  • CSCS Card
  • Awareness of H&S

  • Confined Space Entry (Medium)
  • SLG (Unit 2)
  • First Aid at Work
  • SHEA Water Hygiene
  • PTS – (Rail Access)
  • Experience in Asset Surveys & Site Surveying
  • Experience drainage surveys and mapping
