Job summary

Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Dorchester is seeking an enthusiastic Band 4 Cath Lab Co-ordinator to support the Cardiology Outpatients and ensure the smooth running of the department. You will welcome patients, clinicians and visitors, handle enquiries, bookings and appointments via telephone, email and in person, using established systems and procedures.

The role requires good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently within trust policies

Qualifications

• Administrative support and clerical duties within Cardiology Outpatients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn cardiology-specific systems and PAS.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive administration and Cath Lab coordinating support to Cardiology Outpatients to maintain smooth operations.
• Organise, plan and allocate clinical staff for each Cath Lab list.
• Assist with maintaining waiting lists and scheduling procedures per priority and RTT standards.
• Provide administrative support to Cardiology Pre-assessment Nurses and clinic preparations.
• Support the Rapid Access Chest Pain service and related clinics.
• Provide reception support to the Cardiology team when required.
• Liaise with staff at all levels within the Trust to ensure service delivery.
• Act as a point of contact for patients/carers, resolving queries and guiding through systems.
