Job summary

Pulse Healthcare is seeking a Locum Catheterisation Laboratory Nurse in Middlesbrough. The role is Band 6/7, starting 22/01/2025 for three months, with a Monday to Friday pattern and competitive hourly pay.

You will perform a range of diagnostic and interventional catheterisation procedures in a fast-paced laboratory, ensuring patient comfort and safety. The candidate should hold a Degree in Cardiac Physiology (or related field) and HCPC registration, with extensive catheterisation experience

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of procedures within the catheterization laboratory, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

What will your responsibilities be :

As a Locum Catheterisation Laboratory professional, you will be responsible for conducting various cardiac catheterisation procedures, including diagnostic and interventional procedures. You will work closely with patients to explain procedures, ensure their comfort, and accurately record test results. You will collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results and contribute to patient care plans. You will also be expected to maintain and calibrate equipment, adhere to clinical protocols, and stay updated with the latest advancements in catheterisation techniques. You will participate in quality assurance activities, assist in the training and supervision of junior staff, and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures. You will be involved in patient education, providing information on cardiac health and post-procedure care. You will also manage inventory and supplies for the catheterization lab, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and participate in research and development projects to improve catheterization techniques and patient outcomes.
