Job summary

Caterlink, the education sector catering specialist, is hiring a Chef at The Ridgeway Primary School, Reading. The position is term-time only with no weekends, offering 27.5 hours per week at £13.50 per hour and a 38.6-week year (plus 3 cleaning days).

You will prepare and present meals to required standards, follow all food safety and health and safety rules, and support the site manager with inventory, budgets and action plans, contributing to Caterlink’s commitment to quality and inclusion.

Job Description

We are hiring for a Chef at The Ridgeway Primary School, Reading who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. This role is working term-time only and no weekends so is great for those looking for flexibility.

The role:

• £13.50 per hour
• 27.5hours per week working Monday – Friday
• Term-time only – working 38.6weeks per year (3 cleaning days included)

Your key responsibilities will include:

• To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
• To ensure that all Food Safety and Health and Safety procedures are followed and all mandatory paperwork is completed accurately and with integrity
• To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded.
• To support your line manager with the day-to-day running of the location including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
