Job summary

Southern Health and Social Care Trust in Newry (Daisy Hill Hospital) is recruiting for a Band 3 Catering Supervisor via MPA Recruitment. The role involves supervising the catering team, ensuring hygiene, supporting service for staff, patients and visitors, and maintaining HACCP records.

Hours are 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday, at £12.75 per hour. The post offers weekly pay, a holiday fund, and an Access NI check; flexible rota with weekends/bank holidays as required.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in catering or food service.
• Kitchen/pantry experience required.
• Willing to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota.

Responsibilities

• Ensure hygiene records and HACCP documents are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of catering areas.
• Assist in preparation and service of food and beverages for staff, patients and visitors.
• Ensure food regeneration and service to patients and staff meet standards.
• Assist with stock management: ordering, receipt, rotation, storage, stock taking.
• Support operational use of catering equipment.
• Oversee wash-up of equipment, machinery, crockery and cutlery.
• Monitor disposal of refuse.
• Report maintenance issues and pest sightings promptly.
• Carry out risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Conduct service audits and patient/customer surveys periodically.

On behalf of our client, the Sourthern Health and Social Care Trust, MPA Recruitment welcomes suitable candidates for the role of Band 3 Catering Supervisor

The successful candidate will assist in the supervision of the catering team within Daisy Hill Hospital

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure completion of hygiene records and documents as per HACCP. (Hazards Analysis critical control)
• Ensure staff maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness of all catering areas.
• Support and assist as required in preparation and service of food and beverages for staff, patient's visitors and hospitality functions.
• Ensure food regeneration and service to patients and staff is carried out to the required standard.
• Assist with the management of stock; ordering, receipt, rotation, storage, stocking up and stock taking as required.
• Supporting staff in the operational use of all catering equipment.
• Ensure processes are followed for wash-up of all equipment, machinery, crockery and cutlery associated with the catering service.
• Monitor and support staff with appropriate disposal of refuse.
• Report maintenance issues, machinery breakdown and pest sightings immediately
• Carry out risk assessments and ensure safe systems of work are adhered to.
• To carry out service audits, patient and customer surveys in all areas periodically.

Qualifications and Experience

• Supervisory experience in the public or private sector.
• Kitchen/Pantry experience
• Willing and able to work flexible hours as the needs of the service demands including weekend and bank holidays on a rota basis
