Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Catering Supervisor at Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital in London. You will lead day-to-day catering services, motivate a team and ensure safe, high-quality meals for patients, staff and visitors in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The role requires supervisory experience in healthcare or hospitality, strong organisational and communication skills, and knowledge of food safety and allergen management.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records on safety, temperature, stock, wastage and service using appropriate systems.
• Collaborate with hospital management to resolve issues and ensure timely service.
• Promote a customer-focused culture and handle feedback professionally.

As a Catering Supervisor with Sodexo, based at Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital in London, you'll take the lead in delivering high-quality catering services in a dynamic healthcare environment. What you'll do:

• Lead and support the day-to-day catering service, ensuring patients, visitors and colleagues receive a safe, high-quality and welcoming experience.
• Supervise and motivate catering teams, allocating duties, supporting rotas and ensuring everyone works to the required standards.
• Oversee the preparation, presentation and service of meals and beverages, including supporting patients with dietary requirements and allergen management.
• Monitor standards across catering and related service areas, carrying out checks and taking action where improvements are needed.
• Maintain accurate food safety, temperature, stock, wastage and service records, using systems such as Saffron to support effective reporting.
• Work closely with hospital management and other teams to resolve issues, respond to requests and ensure services are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
• Support a positive customer-focused culture by handling feedback professionally, promoting excellent service and helping the team deliver a consistently high standard of care

What you bring:

• Experience in a supervisory role within healthcare, hospitality, catering or a similar customer-focused environment.
• A genuine commitment to providing excellent service and creating a positive experience for patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Good knowledge of food safety, health and safety, infection prevention and control, and allergen management.
• Confident leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, support and develop a diverse team.
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in a busy hospital environment.
• Good attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintaining standards, identifying risks and resolving issues.
• Basic to intermediate IT skills and the confidence to maintain records, use ordering/reporting systems and communicate effectively by email and telephone.
