Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a part-time Storekeeper and Relief Kitchen Porter to join the Catering Department in Preston and Chorley. You will deliver goods using the trust's tail lift vehicle, receive and store deliveries, and provide relief support within the catering store or main kitchen.

The role involves physical work, hygiene practices, and liaising with ward/department staff. Experience as a storekeeper or kitchen porter is desirable, but training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Good communication and teamwork to support catering operations.
• Able to follow food hygiene and health & safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting meal trolleys to wards/departments, using trust vehicles.
• Receiving, checking and storing catering deliveries and stock.
• Assisting in food preparation support tasks and general kitchen portering.
• Stock taking and maintaining hygiene in kitchen/catering areas.
• Delivering goods between Preston and Chorley sites as required.
