Job summary

Salford City College is seeking a Catering Services Assistant to support the daily catering operation at Pendleton Sixth Form College. The role focuses on delivering high-quality food, excellent service, and strict hygiene standards across the college environment.

The successful candidate will work term-time only (12 hours per week) with a pro rata salary and will be part of a dedicated catering team committed to healthful, affordable options and a positive staff culture.

Qualifications

  • Experience in catering/hospitality services preferred.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and health & safety.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of a high-quality catering service across the college site.

Salford City College Group consists of five colleges in the Salford area: Pendleton Sixth Form College, Eccles Sixth Form College, FutureSkills at MediaCityUK, City Skills and Worsley College. The Group also comprises of Apprenticeships at Salford City College and University Centre at Salford City College.

Salary: Band 8 £23,940 (actual salary pro rata £5,804)

Contract Type: Fixed Term contract until 30/06/2027, Term Time Only (minus 7 weeks) | Hours per Week: 12 | Location: Pendleton Sixth Form College

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Catering Services Assistant to support with delivering a high-quality catering service that enhances the experience of our students, staff and visitors across the College.

You’ll be part of the day-to-day operation of the catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, hygiene and compliance, while promoting healthy, nutritious and affordable food choices.
