Job summary

Aramark UK is recruiting an experienced General Manager to lead the catering operation at HMP Birmingham, one of the UK’s largest prisons. You will be accountable for day-to-day and strategic management, delivering prisoner feeding, staff and visitor catering, retail services and ensuring compliance in a challenging custodial environment.

You will manage a ~16-strong team and partner with MoJ stakeholders. The role emphasizes commercial leadership, people development and delivering social impact

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading large catering, hospitality or facilities management contracts.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget control and P&L.
• Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams in regulated environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day and strategic management of the HMP Birmingham catering contract.
• Lead a team delivering prisoner, staff, visitor, and retail catering services.
• Manage budgets, labour and food costs, and operational KPIs.
• Drive continuous improvement, compliance and governance across the operation.
• Support rehabilitation through training and employment opportunities within catering.
