Job summary

Compass Group UK&I, through Chartwells, is seeking a Catering Manager to lead kitchen and service operations across our education catering sites. You will ensure exceptional food and service, manage teams, budgets, and inventories, and drive sales through new concepts.

The role offers full-time hours with a 46-week year, and a strong focus on training, health & safety, and KPI monitoring. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years catering experience and proven team leadership.
• Hold NVQ Level 1/2 or City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to manage budgets and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food to high standards and maintain service quality.
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure service excellence.
• Oversee in-unit operations, inventories, budgets, and action plans.
• Monitor KPIs and report to the line manager.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and uphold brand image.
• Identify new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Coordinate between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Provide training and lead by example.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards.
