Job description

At Gather & Gather, we are recognized as one of the UK & Ireland's most distinctive workplace catering experts. We are passionate about great food, exceptional coffee, and prioritizing our employees and customers in everything we do. We are currently recruiting a Catering Manager for a prestigious workplace site in Bristol.

Location: BS1 5LF
Rate of pay: £36,500 per annum
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, 7am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday
About The Role:

Our QSD concept aims to bring a High Street feel into the workplace with fresh, nutritious, and well-balanced daily meals designed for a fast-paced environment. Gather & Gather also offers weekly hot counter “Pop Ups,” including dishes from our Pizza station, along with freshly baked goods and daily office hospitality menus.

As our Catering Manager, you should have a strong chef background combined with a passion for FOH customer service. You will be hands-on, leading by example, driving standards and customer experience. Your responsibilities include ensuring your team uses seasonal ingredients, maintaining high standards in coffee extraction, baked goods presentation, and retail displays, and prioritizing customer satisfaction. You will also coach your team, build client relationships, and oversee financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Food and Service Development:
    • Ensure client expectations for food and service are consistently met and aligned with the CH&CO brand standards.
    • Set clear standards for staff and review service quality regularly.
    • Provide feedback and implement improvements based on service reviews.
  2. Relationship Management:
    • Act as the primary contact for client feedback and concerns.
    • Gather and utilize customer feedback to enhance offerings.
  3. Finance:
    • Achieve financial targets in line with the client’s budget.
    • Identify strategies to address shortfalls and maximize income through effective purchasing and marketing.
  4. Managing/Developing a Team:
    • Conduct performance management and appraisals for FOH staff and the Head Chef.
    • Ensure comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training for staff.
    • Identify training needs and coordinate with relevant departments for development.
  5. Health & Safety:
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of COSHH and HACCP procedures.
