Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking a Catering Assistant with Teaching Assistant responsibilities to support day-to-day catering and pupil learning. You will help with breakfast, snacks, and lunch, plus classroom assistance during practical food technology sessions, contributing to pupil engagement and employability-focused learning.

You will need a car to fetch food from a local school and bring it to the school.

Qualifications

• Must have a car to fetch food from a local school and bring to the school.
• Experience in a school/SEN/Alternative Provision is desirable.
• Able to work in both catering and classroom environments.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Willingness to support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Enhanced DBS on update service (or willing to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Assist with breakfast, break snacks and lunch preparation and distribution.
• Support pupils in the classroom during practical food tech and catering sessions.
• Help with cooking activities and food preparation skills.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised catering area.
• Work with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupil development.
