Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting a Catering Engineer to service and maintain catering equipment across Oxford and surrounding areas. The role offers regional autonomy, a company van with fuel card, and potential overtime.

The position includes a starting salary of around £48k–£50k per year, with progression and training opportunities. A full UK driving license and relevant M&E qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Must have relevant M&E qualifications (NVQ, CSCS/JIB/City & Guilds).
• COMCAT or ACS Gas and Appliance qualifications are required.
• Experience with catering equipment, e.g. ovens, refrigeration, dishwashers, air conditioning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on catering equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Read schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex systems.
• Lead maintenance tasks and coordinate with teams during projects.
• Maintain records of repairs and service history.

Catering Engineer
Meridian are working with a well-established and growing M&E contractor originallyfrom the North-west, who have an established team of M&E engineers in the Oxford and surroundingregion which is now once again growing. This role will involve installation, servicing, and maintenance of commercial and domestic catering equipment in the region. If you are looking for an autonomous role with regionalised work whilst joining a growing company, then this role is perfect for you!

Relevant M&E qualifications such as: NVQ, CSCS or JIB card, City & Guilds, F-Gas/ACS Gas etc.
COMCAT or ACS Gas and Appliance qualifications
Experience working on catering equipment and appliances e.govens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, and air conditioning systems
Experience working off FM or building services apps such as CAFM systems and Ostara
Ability to work independently to high standards and time restraints
Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and electrical wiring diagrams essential for accurate diagnostics.
Full UK Driving Licence

Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex systems effectively
Lead maintenance tasks by coordinating with team members or contractors during construction or installation projects related to catering facilities
Oversee the upkeep of air conditioning units and other climate control systems to maintain optimal working conditions
Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and equipment history for compliance and future reference
