Job summary

Talented People is seeking a skilled Catering Engineer (or white goods engineer) to service, maintain and repair commercial catering equipment across Newcastle and surrounding areas. This field-based role requires strong electrical knowledge and on-site customer service.

You will work Monday to Friday with door-to-door overtime, a company van and uniform provided, and ongoing training to support a long-term career in a growing service team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Catering Engineer or solid white goods engineering background.
• Electrical knowledge essential; gas qualifications desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

Responsibilities

• Service, fault-find, and repair commercial catering equipment (gas and/or electric).
• Work on-site at customer premises including restaurants, cafés, schools, and commercial kitchens.
• Complete service reports accurately and professionally.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company on-site.

Job Title: Catering Engineer / White Goods Engineer

Salary: £30,000 - 32,000 basic + door-to-door overtime

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Catering Engineer (or engineer with strong white goods experience) to join a growing service team covering Newcastle and the local area. This is a field-based role involving the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial catering equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, fault-find, and repair commercial catering equipment (gas and/or electric)
• Work on-site at customer premises including restaurants, cafés, schools, and commercial kitchens
• Complete service reports accurately and professionally
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the company on-site

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Catering Engineer or solid white goods engineering background
• Electrical experience essential; gas qualifications desirable but not essential
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Full UK driving licence
