Job summary

Derbyshire County Council in Ilkeston is recruiting a Catering Assistant to support a kitchen team and help deliver meals to pupils.

You will assist with food prep, portion control, allergen compliance, and dining room preparation while upholding food hygiene and safety standards. NVQ Food Hygiene certificate required on appointment; DBS check may apply.

Job description

You will be supporting the kitchen supervisor in all areas of the service . Possible tasks include food preparation, cooking, portion control, allergen compliance and preparing the dining room for service.
Our Catering Assistants are our point of contact with our hungry customers. Whilst serving meals to our customers all team members help ensure that food hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed. We want to help make good lunchtime memories for our customers so it is essential that you can demonstrate an attitude which is appropriate to the school environment.
Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
