Job summary

Holroyd Howe is recruiting a Catering Assistant for Charterhouse School in Godalming. You will support breakfast, lunch and dinner service, maintain high cleanliness standards and assist the kitchen team with food service and safety in a busy education environment.

The role is full-time, permanent, 35 hours per week over 5 days, with mixed morning and evening shifts. Benefits include meals on site, holiday entitlement and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• When working in contract/high-volume catering, training and safety standards are applied.
• Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a busy environment.
• Flexible and dependable with good teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation, service and presentation of food to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas.
• Assist with labelling, temperature checks and allergen controls.
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff and visitors.
• Set up and clear service areas; ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Follow all food safety, health and safeguarding procedures.
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions.
• Champion allergen controls and safety practices.
